Brendan O'Hare is one of the most popular and richest Musician who was born on January 16, 1970 in Scotland, United Kingdom. Brendan O’Hare (born 16 January 1970) is a Scottish multi-instrumentalist musician, who among other things has been the drummer in the rock band Teenage Fanclub from 1989 until early 1994, and a member of and collaborator with Mogwai.
In addition to his involvement in Macrocosmica and as Fiend, he also worked with Macrocosmica in addition to his work as Fiend He also collaborated together with Dave Barker (formerly of Glass Records, Paperhouse and Creation) who was the manager of the God Bless record label (issuing the sole album from Thurston Moore’s “Foot” Project) and was also part of the electro-based group, Liminal. Brendan was responsible for the bookings and sound engineering for The 13th Note, a Glasgow nightclub The 13th Note before moving to Edinburgh and resuming his role as an the engineer for Liquid rooms and Voodoo Lounge. He re-joined Teenage Fanclub for shows in London, Glasgow and Barcelona where the band performed the band’s Bandwagonesque album in full.
O’Hare released a trilogy of experimental ambient albums under the name of Fiend. These albums featured a handful of recordings involving other members of Telstar Ponies, of whom he was still a member when the material was recorded. These are set for digital rerelease in 2017 in collaboration with Dave Barker. New friend tracks were self released in the winter of 2017/2018.
He is a skilled photographer and artist. His recent work was part of a curated show by Ross Sinclair at Queens Park Railway Club “ artists who make music, musicians who make art” with fellow creatives. He is completed a solo exhibition of his 2D pieces in 2019. In 2018 he rejoined the Teenage Fanclub as part of the Creation Years Tour in the UK.
He was a founding part of Mogwai for about an entire year. The magazine described him by NME in the form of Teenage Fanclub’s “Monkey Without Portfolio”, well-known for his humor and upbeat attitude in the era. The track was inspired by this “With Portfolio” on Mogwai’s debut album, Young Team. O’Hare was reported to have been exiled from Mogwai for speaking during the performance of Arab Strap leading to a dispute with some of the members in the group. But, it was no disagreement between the two Arab Strap as O’Hare later was featured on their double A-side 1998 single, “Here We Go”/”Trippy” and contributed to the 12-minute track, “Trippy”.

O’Hare was born within Cambuslang, South Lanarkshire and attended St Aloysius’s College in Glasgow. O’Hare was a member of Teenage Fanclub in 1989, at the time of playing in about half of the group’s debut album The A Catholic Education. He co-wrote songs with Teenage Fanclub on all albums throughout his tenure. He quit the group shortly after finishing the tour for their Thirteen album, which was cited as a lack of musical harmony in the moment.
