Barnes and Noble's semi-annual Criterion Collection sale is happening right now, and you can get 50% off 4K UHD, Blu-ray, and DVD copies of hundreds of films. The promotion will last the entire month of July, and Amazon is also matching the sale.

The Criterion Collection was founded in 1984 and has since released over 1,000 special editions of classic and contemporary films from across the globe. Criterion releases of older films often feature painstaking restorations, and discs also include special features like audio commentaries, interviews, and essays.

The company is best known for releasing celebrated classics like "Seven Samurai" and "Citizen Kane," but the collection also includes recent films. Movies like "Okja," "Marriage Story," and "Roma," which were all originally released on Netflix, are only available on Blu-ray and DVD through Criterion.
